PRESS RELEASES

Only 11% of local food pantry’s donations are considered healthy  -  St. Louis, MO, November 19, 2007: Lower income families tend to have higher rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and other health conditions related to poor nutrition. In addition, these families often have limited access to inexpensive, fresh, and nutritious foods. This can lead to the purchase and consumption of foods high in fat, sugar, and sodium. Food pantries are often an important source of food for lower income individuals. [ FIND OUT MORE ]

Fresh on the Market: Transtria L.L.C., Public Health Research and Consulting Services  -  Transtria L.L.C, a woman-owned enterprise, was created under the leadership of Dr. Laura Brennan Ramirez to sustain the quality services provided by partners and staff of Inneval, LLC (recently dissolved through mutual consent of its founders). All of the full- and part-time staff have accepted positions at Transtria L.L.C during the transition, and as a result, the project teams and services have remained intact. [ FIND OUT MORE ]

Intervention MICA: An Evidence-Based Intervention Planning System for Missouri  -  How can you improve the health of your community? The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has contracted Transtria L.L.C. to develop an interactive, evidence-based public health intervention planning system named “Intervention MICA” (Missouri Information for Community Action).  This is the third in a series of MICA systems (succeeding Assessment MICA and Priorities MICA).
